In early 1999, Boy Scout Troop 641 in Creve Coeur, Missouri, completed a year-long project to collect and ship a container of books for Bridge to Asia. Under the guidance of Assistant Scoutmaster Emmitt Sherron, the troop was able to collect 600 cubic feet of text materials. They publicized their drive through their local paper, the West County Journal, and received additional donations from the Creve Coeur Jewish Community Center and the Greater St. Louis Book Fair. Another Assistant Scoutmaster Dan Hanson donated trailer space from his company Sundermeyer LTD. to house the books as they were collected. Congratulations to the members Troop 641, their families and the community of Creve Coeur who supported the troops!
