Distribution

Bay Area residents may deliver donations directly to Pier 23 in San Francisco on the first Tuesday of each month. The warehouse hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. No appointment is needed.

Pier 23 is between the Ferry Building and Fisherman's Wharf on the Embarcadero. Once there, park outside the Pier, identify yourself as a Bridge to Asia donor, and warehouse staff should help you to unload. The Pier does not issue receipts, so, after delivering your books, please contact us by phone (415-678-2990) or email (nxliu@pacbell.net), and we will be glad to provide a formal acknowledgment and an IRS form for claiming a tax benefit.

Please pack your books in sturdy cartons, and tape the cartons shut. Books should be stacked on their sides, like bricks, at both ends of the carton. They should not packed on their spines. Spaces may be filled with newspaper or small paperbacks. Loosely packed cartons may be crushed when they are stacked in the warehouse or in land-sea containers.

If you care to deliver your donations in the Chicago area or wish to ship them by motor freight from the East Coast or Midwest, they may go to:

Bridge to Asia
Follett Higher Education Group
2211 West Street
River Grove, IL 60171-1800
Please call Dave Lim at 1-800-322-6223 to arrange a drop-off time. The Follett collection point is open weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can visit Yahoo Maps for driving directions to Follett. Again, this facility does not issue receipts; so, after delivering your books, please contact us by email (nxliu@pacbell.net) or phone (415-678-2990), and we will be glad to mail you a formal acknowledgment and an IRS form.
