Information for College Bookstores

Books are packed in land/sea containers in Lincoln, Nebraska, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Most are shipped from U.S. West Coast ports to Asia, some from the East Coast.

Shipments to China arrive in Shanghai, Qingdao, Tianjin and Dalian where they are received by a 'transfer station', based at a university. The station invites schools in its regions to select what they want. This distribution process, which is overseen by the Ministry of Education, reaches schools throughout the country, some as far inland as Tibet.

Shipments to Vietnam arrive in Haiphong and are received by Hanoi University of Foreign Studies which distributes them to dozens of other schools.
